UNITY IS HOW WE STOP BEING IGNORED.
Happy Kwanzaa
Day 1 – Umoja (Unity)
Pronunciation:oo-MOE-jah
UNITY IS HOW WE STOP BEING IGNORED.
In Ward 8, we don’t lack ideas, passion, or people who care. What we often lack is alignment. Umoja teaches us that unity isn’t about agreeing on everything—it’s about deciding that our shared future matters more than our differences.
When we move together, we have leverage. Unity is how neighborhoods stop being talked about and start being listened to. It’s how residents, small businesses, churches, and organizations turn separate efforts into real influence.
Community power grows when we stop working in silos and start pulling in the same direction.
Power-Shift:
Show up. Choose one community meeting, coalition, or effort you usually skip and attend it this month—not just to listen, but to stay engaged.
